Short Term Rentals

We are being evicted from our rental home in 6 weeks

Every house we look at is a minimum of 6 months rental

Are there places that do shorter term rentals?

    Not likely unfortunatley

No security in it for the landlord

You might find a landlord who has their house on the market and wants to know they can get you out faster. It would mean keeping it pristine though, which isn't for everyone. Might also depend on why you are being 'evicted' - if it's because of non-payment of rent you will have trouble finding anywhere at all.

  • Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreements can be for any length of time but normally they are 6 or 12 months.

From a landlords perspective, a short AST agreement of say 3 months leaves him with a few problems:

    1. There are usually a number of set up costs he has to pay in order to move the tenant(s) in. These costs are normally spread over a minimum of 6 months. If you only stay for 3 months.....he has the same fixed costs but has received only half the rent.

    2. Even if he agreed to let for 3 months, if the tenant was a problem he could not initiate any legal action through the courts until 6 months had passed.

So there are very, very few landlords who will accomodate you.

    Best of luck.
  • try holiday lets, most of these are for a let of 1-4 month. Least they are round my way where they out number longer term lets by 3-1!

We are not being evicted due to non payment - the owner wants to sell and we aren't interested in buying the place.
