PC Mighty Max

Dear moneysavers,
has anyone had any experience with PC Mighty Max, its a cleans up and fix's software programs, you download a free sweeper, it tells you how many problems there are and you can buy the fixes from them, I have run the free sweep and it says 299 problems of medium level, (284 registery files missing and 15 invalid short cuts?) cost $29 for 7 day fix and more for longer time of fix ($119 for 365 days)
1. Is it worth the money
2. Is it any good
3. Does any one know of any free software that will speed up the computer??

main problems are the the machine is very slow to load programs
any help much appreciated

I'm gonna say its a load of rubbish, and definitely not worth the price they are charging. You don't say what version of windows you have?

Take for example, invalid shortcuts. These could be the result of uninstalling a program, but the shortcuts are left behind to executables which no longer exist. All the cleaner program could do is delete the shortcut - something which you can easily do yourself. It would have to be a very magic program to fix a broken shortcut to make it work - that is somewhat impossible.

I tend to think if there was something wrong, programs would not be loading at all, and instead would be giving you errors.

Consider checking how much hard disk space you have free (you should have a few hundred megebytes for better performance), and then defragment the disk. Also look at the programs which are run on system startup, and after the windows has started check how much of the total system memory is being used.

or the other thing is use disk defragment. It`s on your machine if you use windows. Most of the software you are asking about is useless but try Download .com and check there for freeware but Its usually your memory or cpu useage that speeds up your machine
