£100 for a copy of a HIP? That is a rip off. The solicitors we use charge £25, well they would if anybody actually asked to see one. They take into account the cost of printing/copying, the staffs time to do it etc.
I can't imagine anybody allowing an unbound copy of a HIP out of there office, if a piece of paperwork goes missing from the HIP, its incomplete, the who is going to be liable then?
Also its about 60-70 pages for the full HIP.0 -

Accepted. I must just have seen simpler examples and I was referring to the style of binding not the complete lack of it.0 -
Going back to the OP's question, An EA has asked me the same thing just now.
I want to negotiate a price reduction in the agreed price due to the survey highlighting a dated electrical system.
However, the report says:
" In our opinion the Market Value on the xx, 2008 of the leasehold interest in this property, as inspected, with vacant possession was £x"
So looking back through the posts, the EA has nothing to gain if he sees the survey? I want to avoid a situation of to-ing and fro-ing between extracts.0 -

no I said a hard copy costs us £100 - this is what the HIP company charge us for a printed copy of the HIP all done up pretty like. This doesn't leave the office if we order one.
We print copies off for free if requested
