New Boiler Quote

Have just had new quote from BG for a replacement condensing boiler as old one is 13 years old and engineer told me scale is in heat exchanger (£1k to repair).
Therefore straight swap to a Worcester Bosch 24Ri with a Magnaclean filter - cost £2,600 inc VAT. I am told this includes a powerflush for 14 rads though this is not shown on quote.
Is this a good price (bearing in mind get 1yr complimentary Homecare 200 worth about £200) ?
Thanks

Good morning: Get at least 3 fully itemized quotations from CORGIs recommended by sources you trust. BG is generally more expensive than an independent.

I was quoted £1800 inc vat by an independent guy 6 weeks ago for the same boiler0

Hi!
Just had one fitted today Baxi duotec combi £1480 "all in" and the nice man also repalced a faulty radiator valve for me!
Apparently the Baxi is "the dog's b****" (his words not mine!) and should save me money on gas bills as far more efficient than my old Halstead (which was 7 years old).
Having got the quote I spoke to my neighbour who is a plumber and he said it was a good deal so went ahead. Hurrah no more huddling round an electric radiator!!

HI. £2600 IS A RIP OFF!
B.G will have your pants down at any opportunity.(£640m profit last year, not all from gas sales!) You need to enquire with 2 or 3 local, CORGI registered plumbers, and choose the one you feel comfortable with. Please note that the cheapest isnt always the best! A competent plumber will always flush pipework for you anyway, and besides, most of the B.G work i have seen is sub-standard! (i am a plumber by trade, and not just a "learn 2b a plumber in 2 weeks" moron!) Good luck!0 -
Have just had quote from local corgi guy who installed a bathroom for me and he started at £,2500 - £100 short of British Gas. Has now given me a cash price but it is not a huge saving to BG so either I am being ripped off by both or BG have come up with a really good deal!0

I got 5 quotes starting top end was british gas (who's hardcore sales team are still bullying me) 2540.00 others were 2220.00, 2100.00, 1890.00 and finally 1400.00 for baxi duo tech 28i or 1450.00 for worcester bosch 28i, all like for like jobs,
I'm going with the latter, www.heatingcare.co.uk based in north west.0
