Sorry if I mislead you. I did say in an earlier post that I was concerned about the Judges decision when a secondary cardholders transaction was being challenged, but you are right, I did not make it clear from the beginning that I am the secondary card holder.
In the past we have got around the "won't talk to you" problem by ringing and my husband saying "my wife knows more of the details than I, speak to her" and then passing on the phone to me.
I do think all Credit Card companies should have some method of putting on file an authorisation from the primary card holder enabling the secondary card holder to manage the account. I am sure we are not the only household where one partner manages all the day to day management of bank accounts, credit cards etc. I doubt my husband even knows how much is in our bank account, or probably even how many credit cards he currently has. I keep all these details, and he only uses one for his every day use.0 -
Update:
Success - I think!!
Received a letter this morning stating "having reviewed the evidence that you have forwarded to us, we are satisfied that you apear to have the basis for a claim", and offering the full amount of £258.
"This offer is made in full and final settlement of any claim you may have against the Bank or any of its subsidiary companies arising out of this matter. It is also made on a without prejudice basis and is not to be referred to in any legal proceedings that may follow".
They go on to ask us to sign the letter and return it to them before a credit to the Card can by arranged.
Can anyone see any problem with signing and return this letter to them? We don't want to claim anything else.

Providing there are no other causes which would make you want to claim on this particular transaction I think it is a standard letter which I for one would be happy to sign (or in this case your husband!).

That is what we thought. Husband has signed it, and we now look forward to receiving the refund - or at least credit to the account. Once this is finally sorted we still feel inclined to cancel the card. Are Mint known for useful existing customer offers, or are we better closing the account, and reapplying in the future as a new customer?0

Oops my bad I did do a search in the forum from the MSE site for Vanquis and nothing was returned, hence the post. My I do feel embarrassed now :eek:0
