Anyone with any experience of buying a conservatory?
Just been quoted £7800 for a gable fronted 4m x 3m conservatory.
Decent quote?

most connys are around 10 grand0 -
I think its reasonable... it also depends on whether its local company, regional or national company. I recently got a quote for 3mX3.6m for £7850.(edwardian)
Hope this helps0 -
Ditto, paid more than that. I'm assuming that the price includes building it though....0

I've just had one built by a local company, 4m by 3m with a radiator, tiled floor, light/fan and 2 double electric sockets for £11800. I'm pleased with it and can't wait for the warmer weather to sit in it more often.
Some companies just give a basic price to attract custom, then do the add ons!To Dare is To Do:beer:0 -
depends if thats a fully built price? i have been looking into a conservatory for over 2 years, got quoted some pretty large prices from 4 locla companies ranging from £15.5k the cheapest to £21k the dearest and 2 in between at £17+£18k,decided to get one from a company in england for £5450(4.2m x 3.2m) getting a locla builder to build it(labour only) for £3000 and getting materilas for it from work at cost plus 5% so materilas wont cost me more tHAN £2000 including decking,by the time i decorate it,tile it and get electrics will have probably cost me no more thna £11500,so at least a £4000+ saving on prices quoted, only problem i have is builder wants to staRT ASAP but building warrant is being held up with planning dept asking silly questionsLive in my shoes for a week, then tell me your lifes hard!0

Thanks all -
just wanted to post an update for you.
Actually went with company called 'StormSeal' - have charged us £6000 for 3x3 Edwardian, fully tiled with blinds, fan, cane furniture, 2 sockets and 'climate box' whatever that is, and nothing to pay for 12 months.
I'm pretty pleased with the deal, although it's been 4 weeks since I shook hands with the rep and they still havent turned up...
Sorry Wearside but £11000 sounds pretty excessive, but if youre happy....0
