Im a bit peeved with Sainsburys at the moment  .
I phoned my local store this afternoon to see if they had a copy of The Very Best of Elton John on CD, a lovely helpful young man goes off to look, comes back to the phone and says Yes we have one in stock, i asked how much, he replied £9.97, i asked him if he was sure it was the right cd as it's a double and normally dearer than that. He assures me that it is the correct cd at the correct price, so i asked him to put it aside and i would be down within the hour to collect it. He said it would be left at cs.
Get to sainsburys.......... went to cs desk, explained to the man on the desk that i'd come to collect a cd that had been put by, "not here, try entertainment cs desk", ok, i thought - no problem. Get round to entertainment cs desk explained that i'd rang and the cd had been put aside. Lady looks in all cupboards- No joy. "Nothing's been put aside here" she said.
My 10 year old sons face dropped, the cd was for him, (he's learning to play the piano and his grandad had just bought him the piano music book and was getting the cd to go with it) anyway assistant sends someone else off out the back, who also couldn't find anything, assistant phoned someone else who says there's been a mistake, they dont have it. The 'nice' young man on the phone hadn't actually checked to see if it was in stock (he'd asked someone else) they think he'd just assumed!
Told the assistant that i wasnt happy and that it was a complete waste of time.
I had to do a 8 mile round trip for nothing.
but more importantly..... my son was sooooo disapointed.
All they could say was a meesely sorry  , just made me feel bad for my son.
Rant Over!

Well in truth, i supposed suggesting he do his job properly the first time round may be to much to ask for! :rotfl:
There wasn't alot that could be done afterwards, and i understand that they were apologetic, but if the lad had looked himself in the first place he would have known that they never had any in stock in the first place and could have told me so on the phone, RATHER than making me waste mine and their time. That was actually the reason for phoning in the first place

Yes but after the incident there is nothing that they could do about someone else messing up, other than appologise.
It was a mistake probably by someone working part time earning a little bit of money, surely you made mistakes when you were younger?0 -
your son had a lucky escape by all accounts.0
