First Capital Connect season ticket refund

my OH went to get a refund on his season ticket today as were moving and he wont need it and was told it would take 21 days for the money to go back in his account, when i spoke to a guy at another station he had never heard anything like that, he knew that cheques can take a month ish to be put through but thought it should go back into an account straightaway
any ideas?
also if it does take 21 days can i claim back the interest refund that we lost out on?

What do you think First Capital Connect might say? I and others can guess, but you really need to ask FCC.0
