How to move Real Player content to DVD

If one downloads a video clip using Real Player, in the rar format, then how can it be put onto a DVD in such a way that it can be viewed on a bog standard DVD player?

    Hi
rar is similar to zip, it's not a format it's an archive.
Are you sure it is rar?

    Hi bat,
I'm not sure really. The file format says: Internet Video Recording
I'm referring to any content that is standardly available to download when using RealPlayer. Once it's on the computer, how do you get it to DVD format to see on a simple dvd player?

    Hi
You use a program such as Nero.
This converts the file to the correct format for a DVD.
Then 'authors' it into a file system to burn to disc.

There are other packages besides Nero, maybe others will advise.

Tried Nero but it doesn't work for this.

    OK
So it may be a DRM protected video.
Or it might be in a format that Nero can't handle.

Give us a clue, what format of file is it that you've got?

Thanks for your help. When I look for the file type in the 'properties' box I just see it says 'Internet Video Recording'
    I'm sure it's not DRM'ed

Use MediaInfo to obtain information on the file.

If it is in the .rm format, you will need a .rm to .avi/DVD Video convertor. :)

    e.g. MediaCoder

You can convert it to .avi with MediaCoder and on to DVD Video with Nero.
