Free digital Video MP3 player with Barclaycard

Hi All,

I got the flyer a while ago, sent it away and completely forgot about it. Four weeks later the MP3 player arrived and it really good. Downloaded loads of tunes, CD software comes with it, headphones, charger and it looks stylish too. Cancelled the MyStuff policy the day it arrived.

Guy on the phone asked why do you want to cancel, I said 'I only wanted the free MP3 player', all he could say was 'Oh' :rotfl: :rotfl:

there was a form in it to fill in and send off so don't think you can do it online.

I received the Mystuff literature too, & have eventually received the mp3 player, but not without going thru' some palaver, so watch out!

Basically, my trial period was due to end on January 18th. However, since they had my Barclaycard details already (on which I have a balance-transfer, & so, do not spend on it at all), I phoned up around 4-5 days before that date, to check what was going on, since I had received nothing since sending their forms back in late November.

They informed me that the trial period was being extended because of the overwhelming response they'd had; so mine was changed to February 18th.

You can probably guess what happened next...the monthly payment for £6.99 was charged to my Barclaycard on January 18th!

After seeing this on my statement, I eventually got the sum refunded, explaining that it needed to be a refund, as opposed to just coming off the balance.

So, if you are in a similar situation, keep checking your Barclaycard either online or when you receive it, so that you can get it rectified ASAP.

As for the mp3 player, it's nothing special, just a 1GB - however, it does have photo & video capability, & the screen is quite small. You do also get a voucher for 50 free downloads from emusic.com; when you do sign-up to them, ensure that...

(1) ...you keep an eye on how many tracks you download - under no circumstances go over 50, otherwise emusic will charge you £6.99 for the whole month's membership!

(2) ...whether you download your allotted 50 tracks or not, cancel the membership BEFORE the free trial period runs out. Again, if you don't do this, they will assume that you want to take up full membership, & charge you membership for 1 month.

I know about the above because I've joined them before on a free 20-track membership; in my haste, I downloaded 21 tracks & paid the price!

As long as you keep on your toes, the mp3 player will be yours for free!

To be honest, the pic makes it look a lot nicer than it really is, but for a freebie (& as long as you cancel the Mystuff trial in time), it's decent.

Having said that, haven't had a chance to put it thru' its paces yet...
