If you have mortgage problems, do not take your lenders advice at face value. Get independant advice before you agree to anything.

Unscrupulous mortgage lenders are rushing to repossess properties to avoid potential mis-selling allegations, the regulator’s key consumer body today warned.
‘We have heard that some less scrupulous lenders are rushing to repossess properties without the courts considering the FSA rules on repossessions’, panel chairman John Howard said. ‘And despite appalling stories of the mis-selling of mortgages, the sales tactics used are rarely taken into account in the court case.’

Would the courts allow this? I thought they gave people time to pay back arrears? Sorry, not something I know about and would it mean a lot more repossesions coming up for auction?
There was a poster on mortgage or DFW board who was threatened with repossesion after 1 month and other posters told her "no way" after just 1 missed payment.0
