Can I cancel car insurance without penalty?

I bought car insurance for the year on 14th and paid in full on my credit card via tesco website but on receiving the docs find that the offer I wanted to claim when buying (tesco 6000 points) isn't valid with this policy.
Can I cancel saying it isn't suitable within such a short time and get my money back?

Most policies will give you a 14 day cooling off period in which you can cancel without penalty (from getting the docs usually) however if your policy has started in that time (eg on 15th) then you may be subject to pay for time on risk and a cancellation fee.
