How do I remove pen marks from clothes?

I've just bought a t-shirt on ebay and have just noticed it's got some pen marks on the inside. The t-shirt is too short and shows my midriff which certainly won't do at my age so I'm gonna re-sell it on ebay. What's the best way to get rid of the pen marks?

    Hiya, :)

If you look in the Cleaning section in the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the Old Style forum listing you'll see, listed under "Clothes" at least one way to remove ink. If those don't help you by all means ask for more help :)

Thanks Squeaky but I already looked and surprisingly there is nothing for ink or pen marks (unless I just can't see it). I can only think to soak the t-shirt in soda crystals but this has never worked for me so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Hope someone can help!
  • I have used meths in the past, it's worth a go (try it on an inside seam first)

Try soaking the marks in milk first, it does work on fresh ink but might not work on a mark that has been dried in for a while. Worth a go as its something you are likely to have to hand and won't do any harm or take out colour which other methods might ;)
