Holiday place for 11 year old

Hi, thanks for all your replies.
I used to be a childminder and am aware that they tend to cater for smaller children, that's the problem with the school holiday club as well. I get DLA for both children, I quess I just want to have my cake and eat it!!
I'm just having trouble finding info out, it would be so much easier if he was diagnosed, then I would (maybe) get more help.0 -
I would expect the holiday club still to take him this year, we used to take them through that last summer holiday, but he may feel too 'grown up' for it. Tricky ... but you've had some good advice.Signature removed for peace of mind0

If you could budget and maybe afford to lose wages for the holidays then could you apply for parental leave ?? Your employer has to legally give you time off to care for children - if you have a disabled child you are entitled to 18 weeks for each child up to their 18th birthday - when you have a disabled child you can take parental leave in days if you want (whereas you have to take off a whole week for children without a disability)
I know that you would lose wages for the holidays but this may be worth it for peace of mind. I would not leave an 11 year old alone even if they did not have seizures! I have had seizures for the last 28 years! -(not for much longer hopefully !)I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -
Sorry, I should have clarify, I will probabaly be OK until feb next year when he will be 12. That's really useful to know about the 18 weeks parental leave, I'm sure I can work something out around that!
This is so frustrating, he's really suffering with this, it's been 4 years! The school are really pushing for me to go the papers and get help but it's such a big decision!
Managed to get a NHS appointment with the mental health team to help him, says he want to kill himself rather than live this way and his moods are just so changable.
Enough rambling, better get on with some work
