Ok I have been paying back a company for ever through Intrum, 30 Jan 2008 had a letter to say I have actually paid back too much and to call for a cheque to be issued. I was told I would get a cheque for over £100 not a fortune but still great. called today to enquire about the wherabouts of my cheque and was told it was ordered on the 4th of Feb and to allow 6 weeks to recieve it. 6 weeks, if I took 1 day extra making my payment they were on the phone threatening me with court and extra charges!!!. When I asked why it took 6 weeks I was told its a back log and to be patient- something they were never with me!
So If you are paying back through intrum check how much you have paid and how much you have left to pay or you could be in for a long wait for a refund. I wonder if I can charge them a late payment fee????;)

charge them intrest at the rate of 4% which is what you could claim if you took them to court
accounts departments are automated these days and therefore it only takes literally 3 quick storkes on a keyboard to get a cheque printed and it automatically gets signed too0 -
8% - section 69 of county court act (not compound though)0

Threaten them by saying you'll hire a debt collection company to pursure the debt."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

sorry I haven't responded sooner- tempting to charge 8% + maybe a tenner for each letter or call. maybe I should start calling them a couple of times a day to see when it is going to be paid.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

That statement is to strong, and, of course, doesn't apply to all account departments and all UK offices.0
