Depends. I'm assuming it's just a static html page. Worth finding out if they'll be coding to standards, and what kind of browser usability to expect. Will it be done using CSS etc...
£5 per hour for web research is quite good. Obviously it depends on the quality of their research though. £20 per page sounds about right. Try them out for a few pages, see what kind of work they can produce then decide from there whether to get more work done."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
You pay your money and take your choice.
£20 is fairly cheap - but a lot of this work is farmed out to india and Eastern Europe. I imagine that this is definitely the case for the web research - which is very close to minimum wage as an hourly rate.
Depending on the sort of website you want, you might consider buying a website template form the hundreds of companies offering them on the web. This is a very cheap way to get a nicely designed (albeit not custom built/unique) website at very low cost. Serach in Google for template and you will find thousands of hits. If you really want to have a website built for you - you will need to be sure of what you want built - choose / design the look and feel by looking at other websites, Think of the content layout and number of pages. Think how they would flow together - you might want to draw them or make a mockup in Word/Powerpoint etc and play around with them on your office/lounge floor.
It is even worth looking at building a site yourself - it is quite easy and there are lots of software tools to make life simple. You can even 'grab' a website you like and change it to how you want it !
Good Luck !To infinity and beyond!0
