help-wtc/bank payment/confused!!

me and partner get £102ish a week wtc/ctc
this is based on what he got for tax year 03-04 (£8,5000)
he got a £4000 one off bonus from work last year (november)
ive just sent back the tex credits renewal thing and told them about the bonus (we werent living together at the time) and so i deducted the bonus from his total wage (p60) for 04-05 which was £15000 - £4000 = £11000

so i gave them estimated earnings for 05-06 for £11000
but i dont think this is right as the big boss who gave him the bonus also payed the tax on it so he would get the full £4000
so did the £15000 include the bonus and the tax for it?
in that case what will he earn this year??

also i had a payment of £46.20 in my bank today which simply says 'bank credit'
i think it may be wtc/ctc

will this amount be based on him making £15000 last tax year or £11000 this tax year- if this is our new amount, then we cant live on it!!!

another problem is that b/f has been suspended from work yesterday for a week and we expect he will get sacked next week, so he is off to the jobcentre in a minute to see what he can do-he wants abetter payed job!!

what can i do???

The P60 usually includes any bonuses or overtime, you should be looking at the total pay for the year, if you have not given tax credits the bonus amount you need to as bonus's are taxable and used to calc tax credits.
If the bonus was just a one off you can change the current years income back to the amount without the bonus, if not it is better to leave it at the higher income.
You also need to let them know if your partner stops work as you may be entitled to more tax credits.

  • it was one off bonus-i told them about it and estimated he would make 11,000 this year (£15000 - £4000 bonus) but maybe he wont because his boss covered the tax onn the bonus so he would recieve the full £4000

so how much tax will be included in te £15000 for the £4000?

anyway, the £46 odd pound was a payment owed to us from last year and then from next week, we will be getting £5 more than we do now

how does that work if ive told them he will earn £11000 (which is more than they based our original payments on for 2003-3004 (£8500)

    im so confused

You can ask for a calculation notice for an award, maybe that will help?
