All sorted- got the office of fair trading involved and dfs couldn't apologise enough and tore up the contract! yay!
Anyone else having trouble with DFS try them, they are great and help you with your rights and what to put in the letter.Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.0 -

Hi Pumpa, im SO happy you got it sorted!
Just out of interest, how were you able to prove what colour was actually ordered, as opposed to what they sent? they seemed to back track very quickly!!
Ive half heard of 'the office of fair trading' but dont know much about it, or how it differs from trading standards. To be honest I thought it was to do with business dealings rather than consumer stuff. Do you have a link or anything? (Just for future reference);)
are they taking it back, full refund, the works?!
Great news anyhow, at least it was not long and drawn out, it can get very stressful, fustrating and depressing!0 -
i bought a suite of them a year ago the colour ran on that, i contacted them they sent a bloke out who said rubbish its your baby spilling food on it , i got a white hanky out got him to rub the material oh dear he says i will contact the supplier and arrange another one , this didnt happen they asked us the next day to go in and choose another suite. but at the beginning they thought we had bought it on there credit scheme and were awkward until i said i paid via credit card and if you do not sort it they will , best thing was when i told the credit card my prob they said ahh you havent paid for that service so i then had to go through the process of reading the consumer credit act to them good old great britain one big con .0

Yep, full refund, it helped that my mom got the bloke to rub the thing with a dry duster, all the dye came off. In the end it was a 5 page letter quoting oft and trading standards and a mega detailed description that did it, 'cos that company will argue black is white, and they purposely drag it out so you lose your 14 day 'rights' or whatever it is, I have heard this from many people.
So document and quote everything they say!!!
All my mom did was get the number from here http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ and as well as all the detailed stuff she had already written the lady on the phone told her exactly what to put in the letter regarding rights and what she could expect-very good service and I think it is 2p a minute from a BT landline.Fr.
