Downloaded and put the firefox exe file on a cd and took it home - my PC is a Windows 98 (1st edition) . Ran the program - it extracted the data, said it was "initialising the setup" - started to "verify the integrity of achives" ..........then.............NOTHING.
Help please???

This sounds like you temp folder is full. If my memory serves me right go into c:\windows\temp and delete all that you can, ONLY in that folder and see if that works
