do a search on here - this question gets asked several times a week.
    Does it?

I can't say I have ever seen a similar question, and you will find I am in here quite a lot. Perhaps you could have searched for the OP and provided a few links as you are familiar with what to search for.

i dont think i could go on the policy could i as named driver as ive got fully comp for my car that lets me drive any other car with owner consent etc

If your daughter is the owner/main driver then she should be the first named driver.

Even though you have fully comp, if putting your name on the policy brings it down, there's nothing to say you cannot be added as a named driver. Key is whether it brings the cost down or not.

I think most people (seem to) have missed that the £311 for 3 months was for adding a young driver with no current driving licence, to be taken out on supervised "L" plate excursions.

311 sounds a lot to me. And I would be looking at the cancellation t&c of the policy (which you say ends in May) It may be that to cancel you will forfeit 1 months premium, - now for me that is usually no big deal as my premiums have not been over £140 for donkeys years so my cancellation forfiet is only about £12 -

Once you know what premium will be returned to you if you cancelled at the end of Feb (ask your insurer). Phone around for new quotes (I don't know if you can obtain quotes for having an unlicenced driver as a named driver online) and choose one that is the cheapest. Assuming they are significantly cheaper than your current insurer.
  • what i do because im 21 is i put my dad on my insurance he's a HGV driver so it brings my insurance right down :)
