I got an email today from jurys inns inviting me to take part in a 'road test' of their new booking engine. I was chosen because I am a frequent booker(which I'm not really!)
In return for my valuable feedback I will get a free night in jurys inn.
Hotmail flagged it up as a possible phishing scam.
All I have to do is:
1) Simply click on the following link <http://80.169.167.xxx
2) Make a Test Book
3) Complete the Survey
I've amended the last 3 digits in the link but when I clicked on the link I was given it took me to what appears to be just www.jurysinns.com but there is a banner about the 'free night'. In the address bar though it doesn't say www.jurys.... it remains as 80.169......
Am I right to be suspicious?
Or is it ok?
How would I know for sure?
I still have some emails in my in box from jurys inns and thought i could check the header to compare where it to the one above but am I right in thinking that hotmail no longer offer this facility?

Yes you are right to be suspicious.
If you want to participate, go to the site directly, do not click the link in the email!
Any link directly to an IP address is suspicious.
Russ- Google is your friend, use it :rolleyes:0 -

Thanks for the replies.
I emailed Jurys directly asking them about the offer and they told me it was all ok!
Looking forward to my free nights stay!
