BMI 0% on Purchases - 6 or 12 months?

Help and Advice Please!
I am hoping that some of you guys can help me with a problem that I have come accross.
We took out a BMI Credit Card last year (July) and have been using it religiously for EVERYTHING so that we could get BMI Miles and also take advantage of the 0% whilst transferring our money into a Savings Account!
We thought we were doing it right!
However, our January statement had a interest charge on it. When I called BMI they said that the 0% on purchases was only for 6 months... I could swear that we originally took it out because it was for 12 months!!
Did anyone else apply for a card in July (or thereabouts) that would have something that proves how long the 0% on purchases lasts?
We have just paid off the card, but ideally wanted to continue using it....
Any advice?
Thanks
