Self-Build Insurance

Hi.
I am on the verge of starting a self-build project but require advise on the best insurance to go for, and what needs covering. I will be starting building work in 2-3 weeks. Is it advisable to join the NHBC group, which gives you a 10 year warranty? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

Are you employing an NHBC registered builder? As far as I know you can only get the 10 year warranty if you do. Otherwise you can employ an architect to give you a certificate.
