We ordered this TV two weeks ago because of its fantastic reviews and bargain price. We asked for free 5 day delivery and it turned up in 3 days!

I can't comment on this particular TV but I can't speak highly enough about the quality of service and consistent low prices from www.ebuyer.co.uk I use them all the time, have done for years and I think they're fantastic. www.dabs.com are also very highly regarded but ebuyer's website and system I find much easier to use, and their prices on the whole and their product selection seem better than Dabs imho.
Ebuyer have taken items back from me outside the time they were legally required to do so and consistently deliver quicker than they say they would.
The only downside I find is that they largely use Initial City Link for their deliveries. Although City Link's service is also fantastic their local depot to me is a good few miles drive. So if I want to collect anything from there it's a real pain,
Anyways, my first post. Gary welcomes himself to the forums!

my OH and I bought this TV and can't fault it, it's fantastic. His xbox 360 looks great on it as well. It works great with our Sky box (not HD though so can't comment on that). My OH did complain about one thing - quite a cheap looking remote control! but who cares when you've spent that on such a good telly?!?! I can't recommend it highly enough - it is our bedroom tv (madness to have a 37" in the bedroom, i know) and we have a sony bravia downsairs, and I'm still impressed with it!
edit:was also very impressed with ebuyers CS. if you want to wallmount, we bought the TV Tilt Wall Mount 90.9kg 32" to 57" (no 130797) which is great too - akthough it does come on a nice stand already attached.Wins since June: iPod shuffle 1gb, Samsung g800, cinema ticket, lush retro giftbox, 2x mp3 downloads, a big box of food (???)0 -
Great Telly, pity theres a load of rubbish being transmitted though.0

Does anyone know what this TV is like using a SD source e.g. Freeview or cable (Virgin)?
I'm considering this set but heard that LCD's are much worse than a CRT when it comes to Standard Definition TV.
According to the current Which? review of LCD TVs, a similar 32" Hannspree model (JT01-32E2-000G) is one of their "Don't Buy"s, with particularly poor Standard Definition quality (ie. anything except Sky HD, Bluray, games consoles). Others that got a "Don't Buy" were models by Acoustic Solutions, Atec, Wharfedale and Marks & Spencer.
You can sign up for a 1 month Which? online trial for £1 - they have reviews for 136 different models which should give you a good idea of what's available - if you want to know about a particular model, I've got a couple of weeks left of my trial...
I have also read the AVForums thread on this Hannspree, and got the feeling that this model can be a bargain, if you use it for HD sources (or invest in a reasonable upscaling DVD player that will convert your SD source/s), and are prepared for the possibility of getting a duff one.
There is a general feeling on the forum that, for SD, no LCD will match up to the quality of a CRT (traditional) TV - on the other hand, I suspect some of the contributors may either be very picky, or have previously invested in top-end CRT TVs, but the best advice is, even if you end up buying online, look at a few in the shops first, to see if you would be happy with the picture quality.0 -
Or you can buy a DVD player that upscales an ordinary DVD to near perfect HD quality for as little as £45. This is moneysavingexpert after all! :money:

The TV will upscale too, but it'll upscale from the scart, from an analogue source. It'll look slightly better if it's upscaled digitally (assuming the dvd player's got decent upscaling hardware in it - upscaling interlaced fast-moving scenes will look crap with a bad upscaler), and transported digitally, but you're still working with 576i/p really.
It won't be anything near the quality of a proper 720p source though. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
I have two of these tv's one bought in november and one bought in january fantastic buys...£365 from ebuyer was here within 3 days of purchase and £360 from dabs was here within 3 days of purchase...the picture could be better but is no different from high end tv's in the co-op at a much higher price that I was looking at yesterday...if you fiddle with the picture menu then you can get it just right...they have a 2 year warranty which is great cos if they go wrong I know hannspree will replace them...I reviewed this tv on both sites ebuyer/dabs...there is nothing wrong with them they are just cheap...but look great black shiny and chic...get one while you can I say...on saverstore they went up to to £600 just after christmas that's not cheap they currently have them in at £369...
