best place for £50,000
Plain Brown envelope through my letterboxNot sure that would be good for easy access though
On a more serious note, as above, also ICICI, though it tends to take a while to get the account up and running.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

What about Northern Rock's online saver @ 6.49%. Now 100% government guaranteed. What's more, while NRK is bound to up its mortgage rates to persuade its borrowers to leave, it still has a pressing need to significantly increase its savings base so I would very much doubt that it is going to slash its savings rates any faster than the competition does.

Alternatively, you could always go for their fixed rate access bond @ 6.35% (fixed for a year) which, unlike most fixed rate products on the market, is accessible via return of post.

(if you had asked a few weeks ago and were prepared to take a slightly bigger risk, they were offering this product at 6.9% for a fleeting few days)
RMFor anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.0 -
I put a lot of mine in the 1 year fixed rate bond 6.85% that ICICI does. A bit in NS&I index linked bond and the rest in Icesave.0
