Abbey over 50(age) - 9% instant access

Clocked this earlier when I was in branch, think it was fixed but had to open with £50k. Didn't have time to look into it further. Not sure what happens if it goes below £50k.

Anyone else?

I think the notice in the bank must have been upsidedown.
The above at 6.05% is all I can find.
If it`s fixed can`t see how it can be intsant access either.

If it's the one alared is talking about then it's not a fixed rate just guaranteed to match the B of E rate until 1 July 08 which is not for very long. Also, the interest rates are tiered between 5.50 % and 6.05%, and you only get the latter if you input £200,000 or more. This also contains a bonus of 0.5% for the first 12 months, so, in the face of several other accounts around the 6.4% mark, I would give this one a miss. Their eSaver Direct is 6.5% btw, but this rate also contains a 0.5% bonus for the first year.

9% is for Super 50+. If you put £50k or more into an investment with Abbey you can then put up to £50k into Super 50+, which is fixed at 9% for a year.
