Cornwall - North or South??

Hi, I am hoping someone out there can help? We have decided to go to Cornwall this year for our Summer Holiday, but don't know whether to go to the north coast or south coast, or whether to split two weeks between the two!!
There is OH and twin sons of 9 to please as well!
We are fairly outdoors type of people and walk/cycle plenty, though the boys like the beach too.
Where to go?
Any hints/tip would be much appreciated
We are looking for 'holiday park, type accomodation, so any recommendations would be warmly welcomed

Both would fulfill your needs. We've been to Bude in N.Cornwall several times because we have friends nearby. Glorious big beach, area aslo good for surfers (that's why they moved there!). There's also the Camel Valley cycle trail to Padstow....and some marvellous coastal walks.
OH useed to regulalry stay in S. Cornwall in her youth/teens and says it is equally splendid.
Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!

On your North south question I favour the north, we have stayed at Boscastle for a few trips now. The advantage for us is the journey down is shorter and the whole of Cornwall is within range for day trips. As unsure says above its a lovely part of Cornwall too.

the last 2 years we have stayed between perranporth and newquay at a small site called monkey tree in a static it has a childrens playground and outdoor pool also has restaurant and entertainment on a small scale but we dont really go in for that!! our children love it there they are age 2,4,9,10 some fantastic beaches for bodyboarding, sandcastles and rockpooling.we usually go may half term so relatively quiet then hope this helps
  • Ive been going to the North part of cornwall since as far as i can remember. Padstow is beautiful, and you can hire bikes to cycle the camel trail:

  • Both are nice. I prefer South West Cornwall better beaches, coastline

Depends what you mean by North and South. Actually North means North Coast and South means South coast.

If you are talking Penzance verus Looe that is called West versus East.

I say this as the answers above are mixing the two!

I recommend North coast for beaches and surfing. South coast for coves and small fishing towns/villages.

Far down west will take much longer but there are some beautful spots to explore.

I think splitting your holiday would be a great idea.
