Seller states accepts postal order but on invoice says does not

Hi

I won this item

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180212527096&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=008

which as you can see specifies postal order as an acceptable method of payment. However, on the invoice he has sent it states
"I am not able to accept postal orders, so please pay by paypal, or by bank transfer or ank draft

I only bid for this Hard drive as i wished to pay by postal order, so if the seller has decided not to take a postal order how do I go about cancelling the transaction.

is it one of those categories where Paypal is the only accepted method of payment?

It's worth contacting the seller to ask about completing the sale that way - use the "Contact Seller" link to send the message.

Is bank transfer not a possibility? It's equally as unsafe as a postal order, but faster.

This guy has a grand total of 3 (count 'em) valid feedback for selling - I wouldn't have bid.

Hindsight is wonderful, I probably should not have bid.

Would noy like to pay by bank transfer, only postal order as stated on the description. Getting my stubborn hat on now and if not able to pay by postal order would like to cancel tansaction. What would be the best way to do this?

I know you say you are being stubborn, and of course you are perfectly entitled to ask the seller to stick to his payment terms. However why are you risking a postal order to a seller who has virtually no selling feedback and who is selling second hand using a stock photo? Are you living dangerouslyy or trying to prove a point that I have missed?

He doesn't actually state condition either if you note, just 'Used only for periodic backups.' so could be on its last legs and in pieces for all we know.

Just email him and tell him that you will not be proceeding with the transaction because you bid on the terms of the auction, which he has now changed.
Tell him to do a mutual withdrawal, and then nobody loses out.
