if you turn off the plastic T tap (red or blue) which joins the washing machine hose and the mains copper water pipe - this plastic Tpiece is not very strong - and can easily fail under mains pressure. it is far more sensible, particularly if you are leaving the house empty to turn the water off at the mains. this will not affect the heating, as combis/condensers are sealed units.0

Just remember, the letting agent works for the landlord, not for you. If you ask their opinion, it is like asking the opinion of the landlord. They are biased because they are paid to be biased.
(I've seen agents in action. In this case a land agent. He convinced some land owners to sell us some land for about a quarter of its real value by giving them advice, wooing them and generally buttering them up. It was amazing to watch.)0 -

good news have had a letter today from letting agent saying the landlords are going to concede the damage to the kitchen cabinets if I add the bathroom carpet to the damage which I think I will run with. However they also enclosed a quote for damage to shop below which should have been done through bloke downstairs insurance company and he hould have then claimed from me grr oh wellLoves Cornwall - Hates plastic0
