Bank Transfers

My friend transferred £300 for me on Friday morning from his account to my Halifax account. It still hasn't been recieved by my account, and I'm beginning to get worried as this money is really needed. How long do bank transfers usually take (the transfer took place by two different banks, if that makes a difference)? And what could have possibly happened to have caused the delay?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi,
I think BACS transfer take 3 to 4 working days, so, you'll have wait for another day or 2.0 -
Thanks
It's just because I've only ever done it with two bank accounts at Halifax and that has always been instant.0 -

Transfers between accounts in the same institution or even connected institutions are usually instant or almost, ie H'fax to Sainsbury's since they have a connection occurs overnight, but as said, between unconnected institutions takes 3-4 working daysHope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
