Why bother hiding this? You're allowed to have the magazines free if you're a card holder, if you get them scanned and there's no limit to the number of magazines you can have except probably just one per transaction. You're far more likely to run into queries from staff if you take them without getting them scanned, as they're £1 each then and thus *technically* you're shoplifting them.

Not sure if available in store but the Boots Feel the Difference Skin Perfection capsules are 20% off on-line making them £7.99 but we (no doubt) all have 1 or 2 of the 300pts vouchers from the No7 gwp so maybe worth a try in store, especially tomorrow if there's 500 pts extra available

I often just pick some up too, I have neve been challenged, but if I was, I would just produce my Advantage card and say I forgot to get it scanned.

I think the points event is going to be national, the other day I ws standing beside the self scan tills in a shop and saw a notice meant only for staff, it said something about points event, although it said double points and a ?, said they were waiting for confirmation, looks like they've changed it from double points to 500 for £20 spend.
If you have a double points coupon from a mailing and its the offer above, would you get 1000 points on a £20 spend?

I think that when my mate picked up her 2nd mag (a long time ago) and was told, "sorry, you've already had one," as the till beeped it just put me off scanning them, as Dollardog says I have my card to get it scanned if need be but until such time then......

It should only beep if you try to get more than one in the same transaction, you'd get charged £1.

I have had loads of them scanned this last couple of months and used loads of the coupons, for myself and for others, not had any problems at all.
Some shops even have the mags outside for you to just help yourself, of course I have to oblige then!!

Well, I've had bad experiences with magazines and vouchers. I've only been into my local store twice this month and never again.....

Last week I went in and got a magazine scanned with my purchase. I then asked if I could take a magazine for my Mum and the SA was quite short with me and said "no, it is one per advantage card or £1".

Then this week I went into the same store and did 4 seperate transactions where I was given a magazine each time which was scanned at the till. I was then accosted by very rude staff for trying to use the vouchers in the magazines! (See post #1647 if you want to read what happened). And I'm going to write a letter to Boots to complain about the way I was treated.

I pick a mag up every time I go in a Boots, which is most days for my lunch or my mother's bits and bobs. Always put it through the scanner and I've never had the till beep at me yet.

I just think that in the unlikely event the security staff are watching me (mad woman mumbling over a fistful of coupons yet again, lol!) it would be giving them an excuse to challange me if they were looking for one, if they saw me walking out with a magazine I'd not had scanned. I prefer to play it safe.

I think you should definitely complain about the way you were treated.
It definitely doesn't say one per Advantage card, and as is proof on this site that many of us have used the coupons one after another on seperate transactions. They couldn't stop multiple use of the coupons, as the magazine could have been bought.
As I said before, Boots would have to stop selling the mags, stop sending them with .com orders and set the till to only allow you to use a coupon and then only with your card. Boots would never do that, it would cost them too much in lost sales.

I can empathise with that, and always get them scanned if I am buying something or near a till with no queue or in a small store. In larger store where there is a queue for a till, I don't always bother now, although I alwys used to.

Dollardog - I know, and I'm upset because I had 6 Illum vouchers to use but they wouldn't let me!!! And they expired the next day so I missed out.
