Hi guys thought someone might be able to help
for 2 yrs running electricity direct read wrong meters and at end of yr reconciliation around +/- £100 was much more and got sorted on third year (2 years ago same again but sold to british gas.
despite an ongoing saga of them taking thousands admiting their mistake and asking me to invoke direct debit guarantee cause they were incapable of refund, spending days trying to resolve this and getting nowhere gave up and cancelled DD.
to cut a long saga, had a meeting with them before christmas and guy came round accepted the 7K bill was wrong called me 1/2 hour after leaving saying would immediately write off 4K, and as a gesture paid 1K as would not pay whole 2K I owe as no confidence in settlement including compensation he agreed would be forthcomming for all the costs and hassle. promised resolution soon. well out of office last week and now find a warrant hearing tomorrow morning to cut off electric for the 7K owed.
What is a warrant hearing at the magistrates and how do I go about defending this. as you can see obviously urgent and v v frustrating from these complete bunch of incompetents.
HELP please

Only just found out about a Warrant Hearing ??? ........................ a bit strange?

Your ONLY option is to either go straight to Citizens Advise in the morning and HOPE they can help you straight away, there & then, but very unlikely?

Best bet, as you have NO TIME to waste is to pay a visit to a Local Solicitor, ask for an emergency appointment, explain your case and see if they can help you either 'straight away' (again quite unlikely unless your LOADED and can afford their fees?) OR they may be able to get a postponement to allow you more time to present your case, that is if they allow you in to court as it may be a Closed Session, on the part of the supplier to obtain a warrant to disconnect your meter on the evidence they have???

Without more detail I'm in the DARK & guessing .................. but if you have been in communication with them, then surely you have something in writing as to your meeting, what was said & the impending hearing at court?
