Can some please advise me re unsecured depts credit cards, overdrafts ect.Can these dept managment companies send collectoers round to take goods from the house?
The thing is the depts are my sons who does not live me I have told the dept managments companies this but they keep sending letters and people round?
My son is named on the tenancy does this matter?I am trying to get this changed but its a long process.
Thanks
Taz

Quick answer is no.
First off they have to send bailiffs to do that and to get to that stage it has to go through the courts etc - as the debts are not yours they will not be able to remove your possessions even if your son WAS living at the house.
Write to the creditors (they are not debt management companies...) and advice that at this address there is no person of x name any more. You live there and the tenancy details are being altered to show this. If they continue to visit your house or contact you for his debts you will take legal action. Make sure you send the letter recorded delivery.
Don't worry - they cannot touch you for the debt he has run up.
Edited to add that they are just trying to scare you into paying his debts - they don't care WHO pays them and if they think you might cough up then they will harrass you for the money. DO NOT open the door to them, simply advice them through the door that unless they go away you will call the police.

No baliffs can call without court orders, you can get debts going to court if he is not paying and ignoring them.
The best thing you can do is to get your son to contact a debt charity and offer lower payments that way they are less likely to call at all.0 -
But depts are not mine,so baliffs can just call and take my goods away even tho the depts are not in my name0

No they can't please read my post...
They would never be able to get a court order to remove YOUR property and not your sons. If you get a court summons tho then make sure you reply and explain that your son does not live at this address. What COULD happen otherwise is that they could come - remove stuff and you'd have to get them to bring it back which will be a hassle. But no they cannot legally remove YOUR things to pay HIS debts.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
