anyone triedmakeing cakes in the sc?
I've not seen any mention in the Indexed SC collection.
There are several cake recipes in 'Slow Cooker One Pot Cooking and Casseroles'
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Slow-Cooker-One-pot-Cooking-Casseroles/dp/0754815935/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1203281184&sr=1-10
e.g. dark choc cake, rich choc cake, choc chip + walnut cake, carrot and parnsip cake , brownies, fruit cake.....moist ginger cake....
( incidentally the book also appears on
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Illustrated-Encyclopedia-Symbols-Interpretation/dp/0754817423/ref=ed_oe_h?ie=UTF8&qid=1203281184&sr=1-10
much cheaper but looks like Amazon have mistitlted it, but could be a gamble which book you get!)

Hiya,
You'll have noticed that your link shows up lots of !!!!!!'s in it - which means that the name of the site has been caught in our automatic swear words filter - so they won't work.
Sorry.
I'm assuming that you are using one of those tiny link types. You'll need to put the full URL into the post.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. You're welcome.
Unfortunately those sites tend to finish up in the swear words filter because some posters try to hide referral links in them (which is against site rules) which, sadly, means that the good guys can't use them either.
You can shorten links though by using what we call hyperlinks. They are easy enough to do... see...

Yes, I tried but was disappointed with the results. The cake reminded me of a steamed pudding, which I suppose is more or less what it was. Not that nice, haven't tried again.:wave:1

I tried one too, a ginger cake, but it was horrible (and Im not fussy lol, I usually eat everything!)
Sorry....was late when I posted this.......I tried in the breadmaker NOT slow cooker lol, never made one in the slow cooker:o0 -
thanks for the warning - don't think I'll bother then, might as well use the oven, rather than waste cake.:)0

Cakes in a bread maker are def "stemed pud" like- kids don't mind though!
BUT you have to mix the cake as usual, line the pan (total pain !) and all the makes does is cook it- make a cake in the overn, or a nice sticker breadmaker malt loaf!0 -
Ovens are really good for baking things0
