Marvellous Monday - Master Bedroom & Landing
Level 1
Check fire alarms are working Did that on Saturday when I accidentally set them off :rotfl: Mind you it frightened the lo (age 3) out of her wits.
Fling open that window and blow those cobwebs out!! Air the room!!! Nothing worse than a bedroom smelling of parps! Done. Have shut it again now as it was freezing in there!
Remove and wash bed linen. I do all my bedding on Fridays, so if it's OK I'll keep this till then!
Level 2
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen.. I'll try and remember that on Friday.
[STRIKE]30 minutes floor clearance.. that includes floordrobe and junk![/STRIKE]
Actually it wasn't too bad. My OH is a bit of a tidy freak so I make sure it never gets too bad.
Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing Can do. In fact I need to shampoo the awful carpets (there aren't many of them though. Mostly bare floorboards which is probably why the house is always cold). All vacuumed. I've tried to shampoo some of the carpet which has loads of black stains on. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. My shampooer is a bit rubbish anyway. It's very hit and miss - it will deposit the water but won't suck it back up again. I really must look for another one.
Sort 10 things from a wardrobe/chest of drawers that you can get rid of... and a pair of shoes only counts as one thing! likewise socks!.. and it is time those knickers you have had for 37 years were binned.. let hem go liberate yourself!! I can't get rid of 10 things because I won't have anything left! But I do desperately need new knickers. Will write that on my shopping list for later in the week.
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs... Right I'll go and do that. Done.
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more- 39 fling boogie time, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
- wipe or dust over the upstairs light fittings.. don't go injuring yourself please you have the rest of the week to work through! The one light fitting on the landing I can't reach, and in the bedrooms we only have bare bulbs. I did wipe over the switches though. Does that count?
- Clean windows in these rooms Cleaned the window in our room
- Wipe down the skirting in the bedroom and on the landing. Oh good. I was planning on doing this today anyway. Done that. I also wiped down all the bedroom doors and the banisters too. It has been bugging me I must admit every time I see the dirt. It all looks so much better.
I feel like I deserve the coffee and flapjack (homemade of course!) which I'm having now. Thank you so much for this. It's better than therapy!0 -

I feel like I have been really productive - but then I look at the list and can't take anything off yet :rotfl:
Spent 45mins filing/shredding/sorting paper work,
Food delivered and put away,
WM,TD,WM - we have sunshine but it is still freezing here - so I can't see much point hanging out on the line...
House is really quiet - have the radio on but it is really strange - listening out for someone and then remember I am here on my own
Next tasks:
Iron valance,
add basil to pasta sauce, portion up and freeze,
Make pizza base for supper,
Go get the little people :j
Will try and sort out [STRIKE]some[/STRIKE] all of the ebay/amazon/charity shop stuff in our bedroom later, once the little people are in bed.0 -
Right back from shuffling money and got enough food until Wednesday when I shall return to town. Had lunch and a cuppa. Plan is
Hoover living room and then put hoover away
Wet wipe bedroom, tidy bottom of wardrobe and put sewing machine away
Plant hellebore in the garden if the ground is not frozen solid.
Hope to all be done by 2:00 so I can spend an hour on paperwork/in the family room before school run, orthod, cricket runs. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

i'm with you there. I have attempted to clean out my wardrobes this morning, but while I was doing that my 3yr old & 1 yr old destroyed the rest of the upstairs  , so now I am back to square one. Blinkin kids0 -
Pigpen - I'm just watching a show called John & Kate Plus 8 on Discovery Home and Health. Its about this couple who have 6 yo twins and 2 yo sextuplets  . Maybe you could get your own programme?0

G&B/SS - can I just tell you, it gets better for a while and then it goes rapidly downhill. DD is 14 and I refuse to tidy her room. She finally tidied it last night. She can vacuum it when she gets in from school. Oh I'm so harsh!0
