Hi all
I am writing this thread as i was contacted by a RBoS representative on friday asking me if i would be interested in opening a new account with them where i would never get charged for going overdrawn or for anything being returned.
She explained that it would be a managed account which would cost me £12 pound a month and they would open 2 accounts for me
The 1st account would be for my paying in (i.e Wages and other credits)
The 2nd account would be for paying bills only with nothing being payed in except transfers from the 1st account.
She then told me they would only take from the 1st account what i told them to every week and would only pay what direct debits i told them too as long as there was enough in the second account to cover them.So theoretically this should leave me with some spare cash every week.
Has anyone ever heard of this and if so are they any good or is this just another way of getting money out of me . At the moment i do not bank with RBoS
any advice would be nice
steve

£12 a month for a bank to run your account?!
I personally wouldnt trust them as far as I could throw them after the way they've run my business into the ground and stitched me up with various other things (they upgraded an overdraft on my account from £1k to £11k, didn't cancel all my direct debits when I told them to even though I had receipts and now my solicitor is wiping the floor with them!)
BUT...that's just my opinion!!
I have two bank accounts with Lloyds.
Our wages go into one and I work out how much needs to stay in that account to cover all bills. The rest I transfer into a joint account so that we know that money is for using for what we like.
I'm not paying a bank £12 a month to run my life for me!;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0
