tesco talk 3 or talktalk talk3 which is best/cheapest?

We have been using talk talk's talk 3 tariff for around a year with no problems, I have just seen the tesco talk 3 tariff at £11.97. This is a similar amount to the talk talk one, are there any compelling reasons to move providers?

TIA

Is this for making any calls at any time?

If so you are usually cheaper on a supplier that gives you free weekend calls and using 18866 at 0p a minute with a 2p connection charges for calls that you actually make rather than paying for calls whether you make them or not.

Also as a lot of people who are with TalkTalk2 (old one) who have the free evening and w/end calls offer which is coming to an end soon are now looking to see what TalkTalk will offer to keep them.

See this thread here and certainly would be worth a call to TalkTalk.
  • Thank you for that - we don't make many calls at the weekend, it's usually 9-5 calls mon-fri, some of those are to mobiles but only around 5%

re -the link to phoning them up, I don't remember getting any kind of free incentives for a year? did i miss something?

You are paying 12.99 a month at the mo.If you were to use https://www.call18866 this would be the equivalent of 21 calls a day to 01/02 no,s .Do you make that number of calls??

As EG suggests you in fact probaly be better off using 18866 during the week, and another free weekend calls at the weekend.https://www.tele2 have in fact got a free evening and weekend calls offer on to the end of the year.So if you switched to them you would benefit more.

TalkTalk have got a promotion at the moment where Talk 3 is only £7.99p phone them up and say you are thinking of leaving and see if they will give you that tariff.
    PF.
  • Sounds as if it's worth a call to see if they want to keep me on. I'll have a look at the other suggestions in case this doesn't work...thanks

I joined up with TalkTalk2 last September when the offer was free evening and weekend calls for a year, thereafter the charge being £3.99 per month.

What you really need to do now is have a look at your bills at work out exactly how many calls you do make EVERY month as it needs to be something like 16 calls a day to be cheaper than using 18866! Also remember that if you pay a monthly charge you are still paying that even if you are on holiday and not making any calls at all.

Have a read of Martin's article here and you will find TalkTalk's latest offer for July there, they will probably be prepared to offer you some incentive to stay with them.
