Virgin (MBNA) have just notified me that they're putting their interest on all cards up to 34.9% mine was 16.4%....

Well not me, at least not yet got a letter.
They might not be doing it with everyone. Just the ones they deem as "risky".0 -
Ditto - no increase on mine.0

it's all very good blowing your own trumpet lol but apparently it's due to them lending out more than they've got and the impending 'credit crunch'.. although the bank of england has just reduced the interest rates. i'm no risk! my credit file is fine and i'm a homeowner without a mortgage!Proud to have dealt with with my debts

Toot toot!
Not had an increase yet but suspect I could be due when my 0% finishes....
"apparently it's due to them lending out more than they've got and the impending 'credit crunch'"
is that what they told you when you queried the rates? If we've not had the crunch yet we're really stuffed! This last 6 months or so was just a rehearsal was it?
Yeah, I suppose when others say the "I'm all right" line it can be irritating....never mind, I'm sure the 34.9 club will be the one where all the cool kids go....MBNA have already reserved me a place I think, front row too.For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
No-one's using any 'all right line' or blowing any trumpet. If the OP had a specific question then they should have made that clear in the original post, rather than just making a statement about what's happened to their interest rate.
No need to be so defensive.0
