Sky + for Restricting Viewing

I am sick & tired of my son wanting to sit on his !!!!!! all day long getting fat & watching those crappy 24hr a day childrens channels like Fox Kids (having said that he certainly knows where to get the cheapest loan!).

Someone somewhere told me you can restrict how long people can watch all or certain channels with Sky +. I think the way it works is that you log on with a user name & password much like a PC.

Does anyone know this to be true or did I just dream it! If it is true how do you do it?

I'm afraid it's not so good news TS. What you're allowed to do is block access to a particular channel at either:
a) all times
b) after 8pm (to restrict access to adult content).

You can do this by entering a four digit pin. Means you'd have to be on hand to lock/unlock the channel as needed, so that your son does get to watch some TV.
To do this, you need to choose Option 3 from the Parental Control area of your Sky+ menu.

You could always remove your viewing card, he'll then be restricted to the FTV channels.

Thanks for the replies. I think i will just block the channels that I don't want him to watch. What a mean old !!!!!! I am!! Got to cruel to be kind though. He'll thank me in years to come when he's shed a few pounds

Now to ebay to get a cheap sky + box!
