PCP or finance

Hello there,

I am a new user so please bear with me on this subject.

I stepped out of the company car scheme a couple of years ago and purchased my first car, a lot of money was spent tying up the deal so now i am looking for another car but i do not want to have £20k plus sitting on the drive depreciating daily.

Are PCP's or contract hire leasing a worthwhile exercise on a personal contract.

Are there any hidden pitfalls or does anybody have:
Any tips or suggestions.
Any ideas as to where to start.
Any good or bad experiences with PSP's or contract hire.

I would really appreciate some valuable input on this as the only other option is public transport and after 07/07 i am even more nervous about buses and trains.

Please help.

If your looking to regularly change your car every couple of years they are probably the best solution - you do need to be good at predicting your mileage and keeping the car in a reasonable condition.
  • Thanks Blue Haddock,

Any ideas as to where i should start my search.

    Thanks

Is there any chance of stepping back in to the car scheme?

In my experience of running a car, including running my own car for business use and claiming mileage from employer and difference from the Inland Revenue.

I have never seen any evidence that the added stress of running your own car, paying for tyres etc plus the cost of insurance outweights the tax paid.
