Ebay-too early to request a refund?

Hi
on the 5th feb I bought two items off of a seller on ebay. The seller promised to despatch by DHL this monday the 11th feb using the 48hr delivery service.By my estimate, that would mean a wednesday 13th delivery.I took the day off work to wait for the item-it didn't turn up!I emailed the seller on wednesday ,to ask for confirmation of when the items were posted or if indeed they had been, as I had already taken the day off of work for no reason! I had no response.
On thursday, I emailed the seller again stating if I still recieve no response I will put in for a refund.A friend of mine said I should wait a while, but it's the fact that the seller just hasn't bothered to reply to me and also on checking feedback for the seller they have purchased things since my supposed delivery date, so they've clearly been active on ebay and could have seen my messages.
I paid by credit card via paypal.Should I put in a for refund, as me having money tied up on these items I haven't recieved is stopping me buying them elsewhere.I'm fed up as I've never had such poor service before.Any advice?
Cheers.

think you have to allow a good 7 days first so once that is gone, initiate the non received goods channel. That should wake the seller up for you!! If they can't prove delivery with a tracking number of some kind, which with DHL there should be, then case closed in your favour!0

Start a paypal claim now. The 7 days 'grace' is from date of payment ad is not from the date the seller states item was sent.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi thanks for the advice.I've started a dispute and the seller will be invited to respond. To be honest I want a refund now.Am I going to have to wait a long time for this to be sorted, or does It just depend on the sellers response. If It indeed has been posted then fine, but I just don't trust her now,in all honesty.:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0
