yes there was a space, but if there hadnt have been i would have waited and either moved her when there was or opted for home tuition, that usually gets them in quicker as the ESW doesnt like kids who are home ed...

Our council's website lists all schools in its borough.
In the case of primary schools, it tells you which school the children would normally go to and in the case of secondary schools, it tells you the feeder primary schools.
When my son was in his last year of priamry school we could have chosen any secondary school and could have put up to 3 choices. If our 1st choice wasn't the secondary school that took his primary school we had to state the reasons why we wanted that particular school.2014 Target;

This is subject I am intersted in as I am considering moving house so my children can attend a good school without me paying school fees, however when I contact a good school and ask them which adresses fall within their catchment I seem to meet with a sort of unofficial resistance to the release of such information. Has anyone found a website that could help me?

I looked up the Education Dept of our councils in phone book. There was an entry that said 'school admissions' and rang them. I gave them a street name and area and they told me which school that was catchment to. This is a few years ago.garry wrote:This is subject I am intersted in as I am considering moving house so my children can attend a good school without me paying school fees, however when I contact a good school and ask them which adresses fall within their catchment I seem to meet with a sort of unofficial resistance to the release of such information. It is also on our councils website again under Education and you type in a street name and it tells you the catchement area school.0 -
i have a feeling it is something like a 3 to 5 mile radius of school, or in my case, the rural outlaying farms etc. try phoning the school of your choice and saying ive just moved to xxx street/rd and wondered if this was in your catchment area, it may give you an idea... otherwise try and ask at the schools ESW.
