Logistics of completion when selling and buying

Hi,

Really simple question (I hope)

I`m both buying and selling at the same time.

How does the timing of completion work?

I guess the concern is that I`ll need to clear out of my old house, but wont immediately have access to the new.

Can I complete on the purchase a day before I complete on the sale, or, do I literally need to load up the moving trucks in the AM day of completion, and park up until I can take possession in the PM?

Thanks!

Going by what my friends and relatives have done in the past I think its normal to load everything up in the morning and then once the money goes through around lunchtime after which you can pick the keys up for the new place.

Probably the best thing to do is ask your solicitors about the exact timings of when you need to be out of your current home and when you'll get the keys to the new one.

Hope you enjoy your new home.

    Hi

You can complete on a purchase the day before, if the money for the new house is banked and available for the people who are selling it to you.

Otherwise, it is all down to the money transferring from your sale to your purchase.
