Unskilled work really. You know the average jobs, working in shops/resurants/offices...what else is there really?
    how are they 'unskilled'...

Kind of politically incorrect, but true.

I was senior supervisor an a la carte restaurant in a 5 star hotel. I was incredibly skilled at my job, the whopping tips I made and prove that... but there was no way I was ever going to get my salary out of the sh1tty end of the stick because there was always going to be some other schmuck with 'no skills or qualifications' who'd do my job for less....
  • You need to think about what you like, what you are good at and what transferable skills you have lil-miss-blue. What did you wanna be when you was a little girl? Support work for semi delendent adults could be good..or a nightmare depending on what you are like.

hmmm so u think any wasteman off the street can go into those jobs???

theres no skills needed to work in an office?? hmm.. maybe touchtype??? and general computer skills?

theres no skills needed to work in a fastfood restaurant?! hmm... maybe food hygiene?! and knowledge of cooking times??

theres no skills needed to work in retail?! hmm.. like till operation? customer service??

hmm... u sure bout these jobs being 'unskilled'?!
  • I work in retail and I really like my job. We have many regular customers and they like it that I remember thier names and life stories and chat to them when we have time. I am a nosy person so this is up my street really. I don't want a lot of responsibility and have little ambition, and fairly little wages to go with it. I do take it upon myself to volunteer for certain tasks. I do a certain amount of oredering from various suppliers as I enjoy this. I don't get any extra money but niether do I get management hassle. It shows that I enjoy my job and enjoy helping people in that when I get the mystery shopper I always pass. I don't think it is pointless. People have to shop and it is nice to get good service.

 I'm having one of those 'what to do with my life moments'.:(
I've been working at a pre-school for the last 2 years, I work 2 mornings I'm qualified, go on endless necessary training courses (which I don't get paid for if it's my work day) have lots of paperwork to do at home, and earn minimum wage- the perks are the 13 weeks off a year for holidays which is the most expensive time to go away, and I chose this 'career' path as I have no family near me to help with childcare, partner works away and I thought it would be ideal for the children.............

But now I don't know if it's enough for me. The children are 8 & 5 and I think I need something more. Any ideas, driving, courier work?????

Sorry to go on, just need more money, and something that doesn't require me to do assignments and exams....and something that can work around kids, they can always go to breakfast club in the morning at school
