Insurance Claim - Bathroom Now Reduced

can anybody advise me please ? my uncle had a flood/leak in his bathroom and claimed on his insurance he sent off his quotes he had received from homebase and the insurance company agreed that is was a fair price and told him that a cheque would be in the post for the amount.He went with me today to tell homebase he wanted to go ahead and order the bathroom but they wanted a £250.00 deposit which he paid from his own money.However it was 10% day and he ended up getting £300.00 discount off the total.What should he do now ? tell the insurance compant it was cheaper or pocket the £300.00 ? to be fair I felt like saying keep the money as it has taken him over 12 weeks to get this far !!! or should I tell him to do the honest thing and tell the insurance company ? thanks

He wont get any brownie points for fessing up, and the insurance company are satisfied that they settled the claim at what they consider to be a reasonable price.

Also, if they've paid him out with vouchers they'll have got a discount on the vouchers themselves anyway - they wont have paid retail face value for them, so I can't see a problem!
