Hi All
1st post and 1st timer on here needing advice if possible?
myself and my sister are in the process of buying our 1st place all's going quite well apart from the insurance side of things.
i've been declined by friends provident although my sister has been excepted.
we are both 25 and although she has had no medical problems, i seem to have had both shares, suffered with depression from 16yrs until 2 years ago and am considered by the doctor dangerously underweight (my weight hasn't changes since i was 13)
the issue is i now dont know which roads to take? do i cover her with friends provident and try and find someone that will cover me or continue looking for joint cover?
will all companies now refuse me cover due to my medical history?
Any advice will be really appreciated and apologies if this post sounds jumbled......:o

Possibly. Some may accept you but impose special terms and higher premiums.
A phone call round the underwriters should find out which will be willing to consider you or not. You cannot do that but a whole of market mortgage and insurance adviser or IFA can.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Not quite sure what cover you require.
Some companies will accept and others will just charge you alot. I suggest you both obtain sole cover anyway. The likely hood in the near future is that you will move and live separately.
Would'nt worry too much about this. Some companies will accept still offer you insurance but with increases premiums.

Oddly enough in a similar position. I bought a place with my brother he got accepted in full for life cover with Friends Prov I was only accepted on reduced cover i.e. wanted £65k's worth of insurance they would only cover £36k. Luckily got some life assurance through work that will cover the difference. Suggest you shop around you will find someone willing to cover you albeit your premium will be higher.0
