I phone Australia and Germany and in the past it has been 1p a min. Noticed this morning it has gone up to 2p a min.

Yep, US is 2p also. At least you get the warning from the recorded message at the start of the call.

I guess they had to renegotiate a deal and could not get such cheap rates.

UK calls are still free, though.

You could use 1899 for your Germany calls (½p per minute but 3p connection).

Although niftylist haven't updated their listing re 18866 and Australia yet, there appear to be a couple of other 1p per minute possibilities there.

;)Thanks heinz for the Niftylist...I have found another 1p to Australia number.

Scahimp...try Telesavers. I phone Oz daily and this one is 1p for now.

All UK calls are free via 18866, but there is a 1p connection charge via BT isn't there ??? is this correct :-/

    Rushnowt - no.
The 1p charge is from 18866 not BT.
Not all calls are free (after the 1p connection fee) - just those normal geographic numbers eg 0161 0207 etc

18866 is the best thing since sliced bread! Instead of paying £25 per month to telewest, I now pay £10.50 to BT and my months bill was £1.47!!! I'm saving loads. Service is faultless in this South London area, billing very reliable.

I've only been with them for a few days after a bit of sceptisism :-[ but so far so good, line quality faultless, (touch wood) cost fab ;D
