Try a strawberry cut in half with a sprinkling of black pepper, it would be better when it is in season though. I like to eat a pear cut up with some stilton cheese. A ripe peach, I would just dig in. :p

Open mouth, stick fruit in, chew, swallow, Bob's your uncle!!!!

Seriously, I'm such a philistine I eat the entire apple or pear (the core is roughage:D ) I probably prefer most fruit just as it is. I can't think of fruit without thinking of visiting DH's Dad and Stepmum before we were married, she offered me the fruit bowl, I chose a pear. I'd just sunk my teeth into it when she returned with a tea-plate, paper doily and fruit knife! Gee, was I embarrassed:o

I have strawberries, sliced with a pinch of sugar then topped with Greek yoghourt, banana dipped in yoghourt, kiwi fruit peeled chopped and eaten with a cocktail stick, black cherries just as they are but by the bag full.
I don't eat apples, they make me feel hungry
  • Fruits ferment in the stomach very quickly and should always be eaten in between meals. We eat ours as a fruit plate mid morning or mid afternoon and it is simply, assorted chopped fruits on a plate. It is delicious and keeps the munchy pangs away. It is quite a full plate and we usually put 3-4 different fruits on there. Yesterday we had blood orange, apple, kiwi and pear. Today will be pineapple, kiwi, apple and orange

Whenever I can, I don't bother peeling (apart from bananas, pineapples, oranges, kiwis, pomegranates). Everything else - apples, pears, peaches/nectarines, apricots, plums, damsons, grapes just go down 'as they come'! I love fruit - but some of it does 'set my teeth off' - not keen on 'sharp/hard apples' like Granny Smiths. It's never in the house long enough to get 'made' into something - apart from if we've overbought on apples and then they just become apple sauce and get frozen for when we have pork.

:rotfl: sorry Kittie I couldn't resist that one, take no offence please! I have a strange sense of humour....

Olliebeak you and I have alot in common! (I only ever buy the types of apple I like - Red delicious and Fuji being favourites. Hard but juicy and sweet. It might not sound OS but I know they will be eaten. Uneaten and wasted fruit isn't OS).

I wash and quarter fruits such as apples and pears, but don't peel. Spartan apples from my tree are nice.
Oranges/melon are peeled and then cut into slices and eaten with a fork.
I'm not fond of fresh apricots  (though I love them in every other form)
Cherries are my "one indulgence" (quote Candleford!!) at the moment, but only in season.

PS I don't know if it's a local thing but Tesco are selling their frozen fruits half price (99p) at the moment....

Rhubarb, cherries, bramley apple and bramble, tropical fruits and I think blackberries.

me too, I wish I loved it but i do make myself eat it. I quite like melon, mango and bananas. Cant abide fruit with seeds like raspberries and blackberries or sharp fruit.
