John Lewis 'sale'

I am a bit annoyed. I went to a john lewis store this morning and they had a few bits around the store on sale. I came across a nice little watch which had a sticker on it as reduced from £89 to £25, i thought this was a bargain and it was nice so i bought it.
Had a look online at John Lewis online and was amazed to see that they had 10 of these in stock at £35 reduced from £65!!! thought that this may be a online price so I phoned customer services who confirmed that the original price in store was £65, yet I was told 89. The woman on the phone said it could be because they price match to the local area?? Oxforsd street is not far and they were selling it for 65, would there really be adifference of £24??
I am not convinced in fact i think that i have been misled. what should i do? just accept it or take the watch back?? quite annoyed

if you got it for 25 quid as opposed to 35 and you like the watch and consider it a bargain keep it of course - i can understand you feeling misled about the original price but as you would never have paid that anyway does it really matter. if you took it back you would be minus your bargain as i dont see what they could do to rectify your issue its already cheaper than it should bei'm living in a parallel universe0

To be honest, it sounds like you still got a bargain - if the original price was £65, then you have still got it for less than half the price.
I presume you liked the watch anyway?0 -
Sorry, above was written while littlemissfrugal was posting!0

Yes I will probably keep the watch as i do like it and it is still a bargain but a bit disapointed with John Lewis to be honest0

Can't see why - if the watch was on the web for £15 I could see why you would be upset!! If you want to make a stand, take it back by all means - but you might end up buying a more expensive watch in its place!

I'm sure it was probably just a ticketing error, an honest mistake. Having been a Partner for nearly 5 years, it is just not the company's way to deliberately mislead people.
When I worked for Waitrose, we had a changeover of the special offers every month, and there would always be barkers (the large signs/tickets on shelves) that we couldn't put out due to errors eg. save £0.00, was £1.49 now £1.89. Things like that aren't automated and mistakes do slip through the net occasionally.0 -
