Problems Signing Up To E-on
I've been trying for the past hour to sign up to E-on via Quidco.
Each time after I've entered all my details and clicked the final button, all I get is a message saying "Sign Up Error" and telling me "the website has experienced an unforseen error."
Has anyone else had problems?

Are you using IE or Firefox ? i signed up on Tuesday using Firefox and all worked ok. They may be putting this obstacle in your path to make you phone them which would void Quidco, all you can do is retry.0

I was using IE7. I'll try again today and if I get no joy I'll install Firefox and have a go with that.
[Edit] Just tried with Firefox; still getting Sign Up Error message.

Perhaps there's a problem with their website. I've tried ringing the 0845 301 5946 number given in the error message, but there's no reply - probably don't work at the weekend. I've also tried emailing them but that might take 3 days, if ever, to reply.
I've informed EDF I intend to move, but it's very frustrating not being able to make any further progress, and I really don't want to give up my £70 Quidco bonus by signing up over the phone.

hi guys,
just to let you know e.on has been experiencing some problems with the website today. I suggest you try on Monday, or call them up (but you won't get the quidco cash!)0 -
I've been trying to sign up to E-on via Quidco since last Friday, but I keep getting an error message.
Anyway, this morning I tried again and still got the same result, so I rang the contact number given on the error page (0845 301 5946). This turned out to be a Fax number!
So I found an 0800 number and spoke to an E-on Customer Services person. She was quite willing to sign me up over the phone (thus losing my £70 Quidco bonus) but said that they could not help with the online problem because I was going via Quidco, and that the problem must be at Quidco's end.
So I've emailed Quidco and now await a reply.
God Almighty, what a palaver!
[Edit] Had a reply from Quidco (very quick!) and as suspected, they say that because I can progress through the E-on pages, the problem is with the E-on website. So, Catch 22 then!

I've given up on Quidco, it just wouldn't work for me.
Signed up for E-on EnergyOnline Extra Saver 5 using MoneySupermarket.com. Went without a hitch, so at least I'll get £30 back, hopefully.

I signed up for the same tarriff using MoneySupermarket.com a few days ago.
Got a letter from Eon and they said im on energyonline extra saver 4 plan.
Aparently either Eon or MoneySupermarket have had lots of problems.
Wait for the letter from Eon to see what tariff they have you on.
Ive just cancelled the switch and re-done it again.
Hopefully second time lucky!0 -
I have just signed up with Eon through Quidco and all went through ok!
I use Internet explorer 7, windows fully updated.

I had a lot of problems through Quidco last week it kept throwing out my Bank details saying thet the account number and sort code did not match. I eventually signed up on Thursday leaving the bank details out, I downloaded a Direct Debit form instead. The £70 has tracked though Quidco but will have to wait and see if they pay up. I will dispute it if they don't as there was nothing wrong with my account or sort code0
